Hacking the musseums or who es Bansky?

But, who is Bansky?

Biography:

Banksy is a well-known graffiti artist from Bristol.
Banksy’s stencilled works on the streets of Bristol, London and New York have attracted equal acclaim and condemnation, but the man himself is shrouded in secrecy.
Banksy’s real name is rumoured to be Robert Banks, Robin Gunningham or even Robin Banks, depending on who you believe.
It is not even certain which part of Bristol he is from. Some say Banksy is from the Easton area, others say Yate.
Stories of Banksy’s childhood in Bristol have regularly appeared in magazines and on the internet, with varying accounts and contradictions.
His background and identity have been kept a closely-guarded secret to both protect him from prosecution and enhance his mystique.
Banksy is said to the son of a van driver and a nurse.
Some accounts claim that he never excelled at school and trained to be a butcher, but after teaching himself to paint from books, his name started appearing on city walls.
He held his first official art exhibition at Bristol harbourside restaurant Severnshed in 2000 and since then Banksy has achieved international acclaim.
In February 2004, he sprayed his handiwork on Bristol’s floating nightclub Thekla for the second year running – a previous tag was washed off by Bristol City Council.
But a piece of work painted by Banksy near Park Street in 2006 - a naked man hanging from a window - was kept by the council after a public poll found most people wanted it to be kept in Bristol.
His street art combines graffiti writing with a distinctive stencilling technique.
Banksy does not sell photos of street graffiti or mount exhibitions of screenprints in commercial galleries.
His work in Bristol can often be seen photographed by tourists and Banksy admirers.
